Biography

Born: Colin James Farrell on 31 May 1976, in Castleknock, Dublin, Ireland.

Colin Farrell is an Irish actor who has appeared in several high-profile Hollywood films including Daredevil, Miami Vice, Minority Report, Phone Booth and S.W.A.T.

Farrell studied acting at the Gaiety School of Drama in Dublin and had established himself as a recognizable talent with a starring role in the BBC series Ballykissangel (1996) and Deirdre Purcell's mini-series Falling for a Dancer (1998), in addition to a featured role in Tim Roth's directorial debut, The War Zone (1999).

After Tigerland (2000), Farrell took on the role of Jesse James in American Outlaws (2001), before taking the starring role in Phone Booth (2002). He also co-starred with Bruce Willis in Hart's War (2002), which was shot on location in Prague, Czech Republic.

I'm just a true Irish boy at heart. I'm just myself, I stick by my guns and I treat people the way I think they should be treated, regardless of their status. And I just have a laugh.

More recent films have included Daredevil (2004), The New World (2005), Miami Vice (2006) and Cassandra's Dream (2007).

Farrell married English actress Amelia Warner in July 2001 and divorced her four months later. He has a son, James (born September 12, 2003), with American model Kim Bordenave, from whom he has since separated.
