Brad Pitt is an American actor, film producer, and social activist. The son of a trucker father and a guidance counsellor mother, Pitt is the oldest of three kids. The family moved to Springfield, Missouri when he was young, where he became a Kickapoo High tennis ace and went on to major in journalism at the University of Missouri. Two credits shy of graduation, he left for California, where he took a series of odd jobs before landing his breakout role of J.D. in 1991's Thelma & Louise.
